What is the philosophy behind Autens?
We are driven by a mission to empower every learner regardless of background and circumstances with a love for learning and the opportunities they need to create lives of value to themselves and the world around them. We see Autens as a platform and vehicle for positive change through re-imagining the future of learning, school facilities and learning space design - co-created with students and educators and supporting the change process. We strongly believe in playfulness, courage, creativity, global collaboration, big dreams and the power of YES.
Who inspires you?
Selfless initiatives helping positive social change, changing actual life opportunities for those affected. And people who are mission-driven and manage to create important positive impact.

What are you currently working on?
We are rebuilding and modernizing the learning environments of a school in Kokkedal (Denmark), co-creating the future solutions with the entire student body and faculty - and also putting the final touches to a bid on a new 'school of the future' in Denmark. Meanwhile we are in the middle of a 3-year long project, training 700 Danish teachers in project-based learning and innovation as the future model for learning in their schools. In a few months a book is coming out which we contributed to - and it will hopefully inspire and help more schools to rethink their learning spaces. These are just a few of the many projects we are working on currently.
What does Learning look like in the future?
Much more personalised, socially and globally connected and organically organised - in the context of actual challenges, ideas and opportunities in our local and global communities.
What was your favourite subject at school and why?
Craft & design - as we were able to experiment and create things that weren't there when we started.
